Abstract
Sasuku marriage is a marriage that occurs between a man and a woman who come from the same ethnic group. The ban on sasuku marriages usually takes place; of local customary law. In Lubuk Jambi Village, there is still a prohibition on Sasuku marriage, especially in the Pitopang custom. This study aims to form the implementation of pitopang tribal marriages in Lubuk Jambi, Kuantan Singingi Regency, and to find out the wisdom of the ban on ethnic ethnic marriages. The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach. The type of research in this research is empirical legal research. Data collection techniques in this study were conducted by interview and documentation methods. The results of the study show 1) The form of implementation of Sasuku marriages is generally the same as other marriages, except that there is a fine that must be paid, which is usually in the form of one buffalo. 2) The wisdom of the prohibition of tribal marriages is the preservation of customs, maintaining harmonious relations between tribal families, and being able to expand social relations between tribes.
