Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to understand the role of interpersonal communication between husband and wife in establishing consistent and effective parenting patterns. The research approach used was a qualitative case study method. The study subjects consisted of married couples selected using purposive sampling and who had children under their care. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation, then analyzed using the thematic analysis model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña (2014), with source and technique triangulation to ensure data validity. The results indicate that open, empathetic, and equal interpersonal communication between husband and wife can align perceptions, minimize conflict, and maintain consistent parenting patterns. Factors such as educational background, experience, emotional support, and intensity of interaction influence the quality of this communication. Conversely, ineffective communication results in inconsistent rules and confusion in children. This study confirms that communication skills between partners are key to successful parenting and the development of children's character.
